The Sambas Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS) once again held training for officers working on the 2026 Village Development Data Update (PODES 2026). The training was held over two days, online on April 8, 2026, via Zoom Meeting, and offline on April 9, 2026, at the Pantura Jaya Hotel in Sambas.
The training was attended by 29 participants: two committee members, one Regional Instructor, six Field Supervisory Officers (PML), and 20 Field Data Collection Officers (PPL), who will be assigned to 19 sub-districts in Sambas Regency.
The training was opened by the Head of BPS Sambas Regency, Mochamad Suudi, SST., M.E. which emphasizes the importance of coordination with village officials in collecting PODES 2026 data. Data and information on the specific potential of all regions, down to the smallest level (small areas), are crucial for planning, implementing, controlling, and evaluating regional development in general, or even specifically by region.
The Village Potential (Podes) data collection is currently the only area-based thematic data source capable of describing the potential of an area at the village, sub-district, and regency/city levels throughout Indonesia. Podes data can be used by various parties for various benefits, such as identifying urban-rural areas, coastal-non-coastal areas, underdeveloped-non-underdeveloped areas, and so on.
This year, PODES data collection will be conducted from April 15, 2026, to May 14, 2026, and will cover all villages in Sambas Regency.
