On Wednesday (June 5), the BPS-Statistics of Sambas Regency held the Training for Intercensal Population Survey (SUPAS) 2025 officers at Pantura Jaya Hotel, Sambas. The training was attended by 35 participants, consisting of 28 Field Data Collection Officers (PPL) and 7 Field Inspection Officers (PML). The PPLs were statistical partners from various districts in Sambas Regency, while the PMLs were BPS employees.
SUPAS is a survey conducted between two population censuses to estimate the total population and other demographic indicators, including the estimation of demographic indicators and the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR). It also provides insights into population dynamics, characteristics, and structure. SUPAS has been conducted five times: in 1976, 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015. The 2025 SUPAS data collection will take place from June to July.
SUPAS will be carried out using the Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) method with the FASIH application installed on the officers' mobile phones. All SUPAS officers have undergone Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) from May 26-28, 2025, as well as Remote Training (PJJ) held online from June 2-3, 2025. With this training, all officers are expected to conduct data collection with a strong understanding and proper field procedures, ensuring the quality of the resulting data.
